New Ford In-Car Entertainment

Ford has revolutionized in-car information, entertainment and voice-command multi-media control.  The Ford SYNC with MyFord Touch is the ultimate in-car system; one that other automakers have been trying to copy since its release.   Since this point in time, in 2007, over 5 million Ford vehicles equipped with SYNC have been sold.

New Ford in Everett is now branching out to equip Ford vehicles worldwide with the SYNC infotainment system.  The most recent country to see the biggest increase in SYNC vehicle is China.

“Technology is now a really important consideration for car buyers, and Ford is constantly working to develop the most advanced systems in the world, making the driving experience not only much more rewarding but also safer,” KumarGalhotra, VP of Product Development for Ford Asia Pacific, told media. “By providing technology which allows the driver to control functionality through voice control, it allows drivers to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.”

Ford Introduces the 2013 Shelby Ford F-150 SVT Raptor

Earlier this month, Ford debuted their 2013 Shelby F-150 SVT Raptor, a top-of-the-line performance truck equipped with nearly anything one could wish for.  This amazing truck is powered by a  6.2-liter V8 providing 575 horsepower, as compared to the Ford F-150 Raptor which provides 411 horsepower.

Shelby is the performance division of Ford, tweaking and supercharging vehicle powertrains to outperform any in the arena.  SVT also got their hooks into the new Ford F-150 in Everett, and together the two performance-based engineers created the ultimate truck.  Not only did they push the engine to furthest reaches of its limits, but they added a 2.9-liter supercharger, a huge intercooling system and Shelby’s Borla exhaust system.

After Ford introduces the performance truck, they received dozens of phone calls from people wanting more information or to put their name on the purchase list.  Now, the automaker has to expand their original production goal of 100 units to 500 units.

Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary

1C6647819-mustang-50image.streams_desktop_smallFord is gearing up to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Mustang.  The Mustang was the original American pony car, and inspired an entire segment of vehicles.  This segment now includes several models who have been trying desperately to keep up ever since.  None have been as well-loved as the new Ford Mustang in Everett.

A new Ford in Seattle isn’t the only thing you’ll be able to buy in celebration of this milestone.  Ford will also be producing jackets, watches, videogames and several other products in partnership with over 50 companies.  The logo for this product celebration is pictured here.

Nearly 50 years ago, the first Ford Mustang was available for a mere $2,300.  In subsequent years, Ford produced more powerful versions; a tradition that has never ceased.  Each Mustang is better than its predecessor, but Ford commemorates each Mustang by acknowledging that each has its own strengths and appeal.

Ford Wins Best Car Styling Brand Honor

Kelley Blue Book, or KBB.com, has given Ford the ’2013 Best Car Styling Brand’ award.  This is the third consecutive year the Ford brand has been given this honor by KBB.com, who uses the opinion of over 12,000 new vehicle buyers to make their decision.  KBB.com also named the 2013 Ford Fusion the ‘Best Redesigned Vehicle of 2013′.

The new Ford Fusion in Everett has received several compliments on its style and attributes, not only from KBB.com, but from throughout the automotive industry.  The Fusion has begun a revolution in new vehicles, with its edgy exterior design, turbocharged engines, advanced in-car technology, innovative safety and convenience features and available AWD.

As is the fashion with most vehicles these days, the new Ford Fusion also boasts a higher fuel-efficiency than before.  Where else can you find a turbocharged engine with 36 MPG capabilities?  There are several powertrain, drivetrain and trim level combination options.

The 2013 Ford Escape

Ford gave the Escape a complete redesign for the 2013 model. This new Ford Escape in Everett has taken the U.S. by storm, beginning with the thousands of pre sales that were made through dealerships before the car was even released.

The Ford Escape has always been one of Ford’s best-selling vehicles since its debut. The 2013 Ford Escape helped kick off the SUV crossover craze, showing to the world the benefits of having a capable and versatile SUV with the fuel-efficiency and smaller exterior size of an urban car. Toss in the performance of a turbocharged engine, and you don’t often find all the advantages the Escape provides in an SUV that has 33 MPG capabilities.

Ford Lands High Honors In Several Auto Segments

Each year, U.S News and Rankings analyzes  published reviews and test drives of over 300 production model vehicles, ranking each depending on their findings.   They then use a formula that combines the overall cost-to-own of each vehicle combined with their review findings to decide which car is the best for the money.  For 2013, a Ford vehicle received this honor in five different automotive segments.

The Ford Focus was given the “2013 Best Compact Car for the Money” honor, beating out over 40 models in the Affordable Small Car segment.  The 2013 Ford Fusion in Everett was given the “Best Midsize Car for the Money” award, beating out nearly 20 other models in the Affordable Midsize Category.  The Ford Fusion took the award in the Hybrid Car category, receiving “2013 Best Hybrid Car for the Money.”

The 2013 Ford Taurus too, the Affordable Full-Size Sedan segment, earning the award for “Best Large Car for the Money.”  Lastly, the new Ford Edge is now considered the “2013 Best 2-Row Midsize SUV for the Money.”

Ford Partners With Spotify to Improve In-Car Tech

When it comes to in-car connectivity and infotainment, Ford Motor Co. has been the leader of the automotive industry. The automaker has paved the way for voice-command technology and the sharing and browsing of information while driving without impairing safety on the road. Ford has taken another step in vehicle tech by partnering with Spotify to bring the height of in-car music entertainment into their vehicles.

Now, through a special app, Ford drivers can access millions of songs to be played through their phone and into the car stereo. Also, Ford’s infotainment systems are now compatible with the Amazon Cloud Player through Sync AppLink, allowing drivers of new Ford cars in Everett to control their smartphone apps with voice commands.

Ford Tops Positive Media Survey

In a recent study performed by a popular marketing company, Ford Motor Co. was found to be the automaker to generate the most positive media over the past year.  This is the second year in a row Ford has managed to claim this honor.  The marketing agency conducts this study by asking 5,000 Americans per weekday what they have heard recently about any certain brands and ask them to give the brand’s media a certain ranking.  After averaging all of the rankings, Ford was found to have the highest score.

New Ford in Seattle has been given much media attention recently due to the automaker’s gains in fuel-efficient vehicles.  The highly efficient and award-winning EcoBoost three-cylinder engine has been constantly in the news, as has Ford’s new hybrid vehicles: the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid and the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid, as well as their plug-in hybrid counterparts.  The recent unveiling of the Ford F-150 Atlas concept received more attention than others during the North American International Auto Show last month.

The 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid

In order to make a truly superior hybrid, Ford had to make sure the hybrid model was based on a truly superior sedan. The Ford Fusion is one of the best in its class, taking the top non-hybrid spot on USNews’ list of affordable midsize cars. In fact, the only vehicle to be ranked higher than the new Ford Fusion in Everett, is the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid, which earns the #1 spot out of 18 midsize vehicles in its price range.

According to the article written by US News after 47 published reviews and test drives were analyzed, this is what they had to say, “Excellent fuel economy, strong performance, great reliability and safety scores, a roomy interior and stylish exterior help the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid rank at the top of the class.”

The new Ford Fusion Hybrid has an official rating of 47 MPG in the city and on the highway, giving it the highest rating in its class.

Ford’s F-150 Concept Truck, The Atlas

Ford has produced the best pickup truck available in the U.S. for the past 30+ years. Reviews, ratings and sales numbers back up Ford’s claim of having knowing exactly what a pickup truck should be. Now, the automaker is experimenting with some new and innovative ideas for a possible new production model Ford F-150 called ‘The Atlas’.

During the 2013 North American International Auto Show, Ford debuted the new F-150 Atlas concept, which took the show by surprise. Presenting the truck concept in a jaw-dropping fashion by dramatically lowering it in from above, they garnered no little amount of attention.

This Ford Atlas concept is larger than the current production model F-150, yet somehow lighter. It is also powered by an advanced EcoBoost engine that will add a few MPG to the pickup. Whether this new truck will actually make it to production or if Ford is using it as a platform to showcase and test new technology, has yet to be seen.
