For the second consecutive year, the Ford Motor Company bested all other automakers to have the most individual segment winners in the AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Awards (IVAs), and also for the second consecutive year, it wasn’t even close. While seven different Blue Oval products ranked highest in their categories in this year’s IVAs, no other company had more than three winners. This year’s honorees were chosen based on survey responses from more than 72,000 vehicle owners/lessees, who gauged how well their rides performed in areas such as comfort, ride and handling, cargo space, and fuel efficiency. Ford’s super seven included: Lincoln MKZ (Luxury Mid-Size Car)—Available with a high-efficiency hybrid powertrain as a no-cost option Ford Fusion (Premium Mid-Size Car)—The best-selling car in the Ford lineup Ford Fusion Hybrid (Hybrid Car)—With an EPA line of up to 41 mpg city/36 mpg highway/39 mpg combined Ford F-150 (Large Light-Duty Pickup)—Boasting an available EcoBoost engine that delivers 365 hp, 420 lb.-ft. of torque and 22 mpg highway Ford Super Duty (Large Heavy-Duty Pickup)—Showcasing best-in-class towing, payload and fuel-efficiency marks Ford Flex (Large Crossover SUV)—Offering bold style, cutting-edge technology, superior fuel economy and room for up to seven Ford Explorer (Premium Mid-Size Crossover SUV)—All-new for the 2011 model year and now capable of towing up to 5,000 lbs. and achieving up to 28 mpg on the highway with its new EcoBoost engine It makes for a notable follow up to Ford’s recent performance in another key third-party quality study, the Strategic Vision Total Quality Awards, in which the Blue Oval was the No. 2 full-line brand and was singled out for its particularly strong design, innovation, brand strength and more. Now the hard part is singling out which one of Ford’s Ideal vehicles best meets your ideals.
